ISESAZ
ISES AZ History

ISES AZ was launched in May 2006 by Kerrell Farmelant, Connie Ciuffreda, Angela Brown and Melissa Jurcan. With Phoenix being the fifth largest city in the nation, corporate, tourism and event industries here were expanding rapidly. The southwest is host to a plethora of high profile events, ranging from political to corporate, special occasions to sporting events, festivals and concerts to trade and consumer shows. The sheer number of those involved in the planning and production of events in Arizona is at an all time high, and ISES AZ has been instrumental for those interested in advancing their knowledge of, and contacts in, the local special event industry. Starting a local chapter of ISES has allowed us to come together and promote our industry as a whole.

Since our launch over three years ago, ISES AZ has:
  • Industry Alliance: Formed the industry alliance with other event, tourism and meeting organizations in the Valley. ISES AZ also developed an industry wide calendar.
  • Programs & Education: Our chapter hosts educational meetings nine times a year (January, February, March, April, June, July, August, September & November). We host at a different venue – and cover a different topic and theme each month. In addition, we generally host one or two master series events where we have expert speakers from around the country visit. In the past, our chapter has hosted Preston Bailey, Michael Cerbelli, David DeLoach, David Merrell and Timot McConagle!
  • Awards: We will be celebrating the fourth year of our program! The awards program was creating to recognize those in the local event industry – as is open to all those in Arizona to enter (you do not have to be an ISES member). Our awards program is open for entry typically from January through early April - and our banquet takes place in May.
  • Community Service: Creating a community service program. Each year we conduct four community service projects that our members volunteer to be a part of. In addition, we contribute funds to the national SEARCH Foundation. Last, we award five student membership scholarships each year.
  • Social/Fundraising Events: We host a yearly gala/auction in October and golf tournament in April!
  • Communications: ISES AZ sends out a monthly eNewsletter. In addition, our communications team manages our social networking sites and blog. We also have several opportunities for promotion and advertising for our members via our website and at our events.
  • Membership: We strive to serve you. Each year we conduct a member survey to find out what topics you are interested in hearing about and what kinds of things we can offer in terms of member care.

ISES AZ strives to provide professional education, networking, showcasing opportunities for your product or service – and more!
