Welcome to The Zonies!
Since 2006 ISES Arizona has acknowledged the achievements and creativity of its
membership through the “The Zonies “Awards program.
The awards program was developed to acknowledge and honor Arizona
industry professionals and their finest examples of creativity, planning,
strategic management, resourcefulness and successful solutions throughout the year.
The awards offer multiple categories that represent the different disciplines within the events industry.
Being an ISES Zonie Award recipient provides the distinct competitive advantage to
present your award-winning event or program to customers, potential clients, vendors and colleagues.
The award reminds your industry peers of your team's hard work, creativity, uniqueness, accomplishments and industry expertise.
Winning a Zonie Award adds great recognition to your business too.
It creates marketing opportunities, improves staff morale and attracts media attention.
The press about your company writes itself!
It is no secret that awards have glamour. Telling current and potential
clients that you have been nominated and / or won an ISES Zonie Award is another
way to create your competitive edge - clients simply want to work with the best.
And as if these reasons are not enough, consider that your local Zonie Award submission
may also be eligible for a national ISES Esprit Award. The ISES Esprit Award is the mark
of global distinction and the highest level of professional acknowledgement within the special
events industry today. The Esprit award is designed to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts,
performance, and outstanding contributions of ISES members in the special events planning industry
on the national level. Many of the categories of our Arizona Zonies are parallel to those of the
Esprit awards so make it a goal to celebrate your accomplishments both locally and nationally this year.
Don’t miss the opportunity to raise industry awareness of your achievements.
If you’ve entered before...keep entering. If you’ve never entered before...this
could be YOUR year. You can’t stand on stage and accept the award if you don’t enter.
Best of luck with your entries!

ZONIES 2012 Entry Packet Complete
- Each entrant must be a member of the event/hospitality industry in the state of Arizona. It is not mandatory to be a member of ISES Arizona. The term “member” in this document refers to this definition: The entrant must have an Arizona address and the event must have occurred within the state of Arizona.
- The entrant must have been responsible and accountable for the event submitted. Categories entered must correspond with the work accomplished. For example, if TECHNICAL PRODUCTION is entered, the entrant must be the vendor who designed and executed the work, (not the person who paid for the design).
- The event entered must have occurred between January 1 and December 31, 2011 in the state of Arizona. If the event took place over time, the days must have been contiguous, unless the event is being submitted in the EVENT SERIES category.
- All entries must be received by 5:00 PM, Friday, March 30, 2012. Entries must be submitted digitally via www.yousendit.com . Please see digital upload instructions below. Entries received after 5:00 PM, Friday, March 30, 2012 will not be accepted.
- The format that must be followed is specified on the Entry Checklist provided. Entries must adhere to the Rules and the Checklist. Point deductions and/or disqualification for non-compliance may result if an entry fails to follow the rules.
- Any applicant may enter a specific event in more than one category. A separate complete Entry Certification Form, submission and entry fee is required for each entry.
- Entry registration must include an online payment via ISESarizona.com for the appropriate fee. ISES AZ Member entries are thirty-five dollars ($35.00) and non-member entries are fifty dollars ($50.00).
- The number of nominations in each category is based on merit, not the number of entries. All decisions of the independent judges are final. The entries will be judged by a selected group of event/hospitality professionals who are not participating entrants.
- Judging is based on:
- How well the event met its objectives
- Originality and creativity
- Integration of elements of the event
- Execution of the event
- Any challenges that were presented and overcome
- The quality of the event, attention to detail and concept
- Only one award trophy will be given per entry. The entrants will have the opportunity to purchase additional trophy replicas following the Awards Gala.

announce award recipients at the Awards Gala. Failure to comply with this rule can result in disqualification.
